Once again in 2015 Maxwell Robinson & Phelps’ Managing Direct Ray Franklin participated in an exciting 200+ km bicycle ride as part of The Sunsuper Ride to Conquer Cancer® benefiting the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.
Ray was lucky enough to join forces with 10 other riders this year as part of the overall 1400 other riders. Last year the team battled strong head winds a squalling rain on the first day, and beautiful sunshine on the second.
It was very emotional watching cancer sufferers battling the elements to raise money for cancer research. The highlight for Ray was being asked to form a guard of honour to encourage the last riders in after they had been on the road for more than 9 hours in bad weather. Some of the last across the line were in fact cancer survivors and their family and support riders. There wasn’t too many involved in the event who stood there clapping and cheering that didn’t have a tear in their eye.
We hope you can join us in raising some valuable money for this worthwhile cause in the future. The funds raised will help the Harry Perkins Institute acquire the brilliant minds that will accelerate research and discovery in the cancer treatment field. As we all know we all have had someone in our lives touched by cancer.
Maybe you’ll be sitting alongside us next year. If you are interested in joining us for the ride please let us know.
